Each Friday morning (except during the holidays when they are open on Wednesdays), I visit Borrego Springs Farmers Market and arrive at eight just as the stallholders are setting up in order to get the best pick of the plants. With rising expectation, I pass some of the bleary-eyed patrons stumbling home down Palm Canyon Drive and then arrive at this weekly horticultural paradise. Every week I buy plants for my garden, and each week I will tell you what I got and what I paid for them. This morning I bought two large Chrysanthemums for $10 each to bring some freshness to my tired garden now that most of the summer’s blooms are gone.
